I'm a refugee from the "other place" too. I still check in over there from time to time, but this forum is hands down the best brewing forum out there. And also just a great place to knock about and share other common interests with genuinely cool and interesting people. I've known some of you guys going on six years now!  You don't know how many times I've referred to a "friend" from the beer forum (even though I've never met any of you in person) when talking about beer/brewing/etc. with my wife or other friends.  Hopefully, I'll be able to make it to the NHC one of these years!

Me too, and I do the same. The migration and the reference to my friends on the forum...and I enjoy meeting anyone willing to meet me. I travel enough to reach some of you and I am always up for a beer. My two most common destinations are the Twin Cities, and San Diego. I make it to each city at least once if not twice a year...

After posting my last message, I went trolling about in the rest of the forum. I came across the All Grain vorlauf thread.

I noticed gogreen437's apprehension in asking a question in fear of getting the "we already covered that / use the search function" response.

That has always been a pet peeve of mine. If someone asks a question and a quick "look it up, fool!" response shows up.

The thread is a perfect example of how members here read the question and answered it. Who cares if we had gone over it before.
If we didn't want to talk about beer, "again" we probably wouldn't be here.
