PBS Prohibition documentary
« on: September 18, 2011, 07:42:41 pm »
I was flipping through the new BYO and saw that PBS took out a full page add for Ken Burns' Prohibition:
http://www.pbs.org/kenburns/upcoming/

Looks like it should be a good special.  I am currently reading Okrent's book "Last Call: The rise and fall of Prohibition" and it is a very good and fascinating read.  Check out Okrent's interview on the Daily Show:

Ken Burns needs something like the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That guy is such a national treasure. I grew up on his Civil War docu and have since gone on to enjoy Baseball, the WPA, and a bunch of others. Perhaps once my lager is finished up I'll pour a pint and sit down to watch this one. I think it's on video.pbs.org as well!

I love the Ken Burns specials. He produces fabulous work on everything he does.

I'll have to tape the prohibition documentary.
