Oak Cubes in a Conical
« on: September 16, 2011, 10:18:29 AM »
Does anyone know for sure if oak cubes always float? I do not want to have to back them and I don't want them clogging up the bottom of my conical. Seems like they float IIRC.

They usually float for a while, but if you let them sit too long then they will eventually take on enough liquid and sink.  I don't pay enough attention to know how long that takes though, sorry. More than a couple of days, less than a couple of months :-\

Hmmm ... perhaps I will rig up tiny flotation devices.  ;) Thanks. I guess I'll bag 'em.

yep, if you want them to float, bag them with a ping pong ball.
