Speaking of Schlitz...

lately I've had a hankering to brew a malt liquor... I'm from Indiana, so maybe with some local corn?

Maybe this deserves another post... has anyone else attempted this?

Here's a tidbit on Schlitz.

Very cool.  I haven't seen the 1960s formula but I'll give it a try when I do.  Many of the bars on their list are great bars, particularly the Long Room and Sheffields.

By the way, 14/15 and missed the Budweiser answer.  Seemed like it was too obvious...

Too easy.  Just the labels gave them away.

Missed the Schlitz question  ???

You say that like it's a bad thing.   :D

I tried a 1960s formula Schlitz recently.  Apparently they've gone back to that recipe.  It was amazingly good.

Here's a tidbit on Schlitz.

http://beeradvocate.com/news/1312036

My friends and I used to split a case of Schlitz longnecks (deposit kine) back in the early 70s (we were in high school).  I remember it as tasting pretty damn good.  I have always chalked it up to my relative inexperience as a beer drinker at the time.  Now I see I was probably drinking the old recipe.  We used to get Schlitz Dark on tap too.  That was pretty tasty as I recall.

I hope some of the old recipe finds its way here to Hawaii.  It would be interesting to see if it tastes like I remember it.

I remember my dad giving me sips of his Ballentine IPA when I was a kid, and liking it a lot.  That was in the late 50s/early 60s.

I only got 10 out of 15, but it was alarming how many of the songs I remembered. ("If you've got the time, we've got the beer...")/

14/15.  Can't believe I missed Becks ... that's my whipping boy ... er beer.  :P
Too bad they were all mass produced beers.  Something craft brewy from around the world would be cool.

One of my favorite surfin' and fishin' spots back in the day.
There are no snook here in Hawaii. (one of the things I really miss about Florida)
We catch pelagics from the shore though.  The bottom is so steep, you go out 100 yards and you are in 100 fathoms.
It's not uncommon to see humpbacks swimming a few hundred feet offshore here in the winter.
