Anyone have predictions for the ETFC buy-out?
« on: October 03, 2011, 10:36:42 am »
ETFC has been courting for a while, it looks like Ameritrade is the most likely bidder once their bad debt is cleaned up.  Still, it's pretty low now, but I don't know the impact or the timing... anyone have opinions?

And even more, is it worth it?  A $1000 investment on ETFC would be fine; but if it takes 3 years to jump by 40% ... hey, I can get a guaranteed 11% return from FTR and CLMT, and CLMT will probably give about 12% growth in a Euro crisis market (helloooooo Greece!).  Even in the short term, a sudden 10% growth would be nice if I could get the timing right.

So unless I can get an oracle of timing before news day, I don't see how I'm not better off in FTR or CLMT, or using my money to diversify into energy ETFs (alt, mixed fossil, and possibly nuclear at this time) and GLTR (gold, silver, palladium, platinum, rather than just GLD or SLV).  I have a coworker that wants to diversify into wine...

I Think you would be better off investing in my turtle park, with the taco stand.

Only if they're built by union workers who smoke weed on their lunch breaks.   ;)

Yeah, that could be arranged.
