I'll decide while I'm finishing a few chores this morning.  It's come down to a smoked porter or oatmeal stout.  maybe do a separate mash with my apple smoked malt so I'll have 5 gallons of smoked porter and 5 of regular.  I really hate decisions like this.

Pitched my first lager this morning!  I'm using WY2112.  Does anyone have a typical fermentation profile that they try to follow with this yeast? I'm mostly concerned about length of primary, diacetyl rest and secondary temp and length of fermentation.  Any tips would be great. Cheers!

Heating the strike for a Schwarzbier, my 43rd batch of the year.

Cheers to that!  Hope the schwarzbier turns out nicely.

Didn't get to any brewing this weekend but I'm going to kick off a starter tonight and maybe get a keg and some lines cleaned.  If all goes according to plan I'll take Friday off and brew a batch of Denny's BVIP.

Finally got mashed in on that ESB. Even tho this is columbus day, there is not
any columbus in the hop line up.. been a while since I brewed but maybe I can remember how.

Edit: ESB in the fermenter went pretty good...humidity was low in the ambient so my boil off rate
was much faster than I thought...still hit within 4 gravity points of 1.050...i;ll take that!
Holding a glass of fullers up beside this tube and the color is spot on!
