What's Brewing This Weekend - 10/14 Edition

If you listen very carefully, you can hear the ground creak as the grimleys, ghoulies and growlies are beginning to stir.

What will you be doing to prepare for the halloween-alypse?

I'll go first...I'm brewing 11 gallons of a Belgian Tripel that I'm splitting with my brewing partner on Saturday.

Also making a starter for 11 gallons of AIPA next weekend.

Racking and dry hopping my JubelClone. Also going to try and figure out how to convert a ten gallon Corny keg into a fermenter. I like doing split batches but sometimes it would be nice to do one big batch and move it all with CO2.

I'll be making a Doppelbock for a contest in Feb and kegging a Pumpkin Ale for drinking later this month.
Everyone should believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer.

I am judging on Saturday.  If there is any time I'm hoping to brew on Sunday - I have a Deschutes Mirror Pond clone in the on deck circle.

If ingredients arrive on time I might make a un-hopped heather ale as a starter for the annual babies b-day barley wine the week after or the week after that. although this might all get pushed back a week or two as I gotta get the winter garden in as well.

I'm going to try to get everything in order over the next few weekends for a big brewing weekend when my wife takes the kids out of town in November.

5 gallons of Denny's Homage to Golden Monkey.

5 gallons of stout.

And perhaps cleaning up the brew room... (basement)

Hopefully making a "starter" for an Impy Stout I'll be brewing in a couple of weeks.  The starter will be a Mocktoberfest with 1007 which should make a good yeast cake.

Cleaned kegs and racked out of some fermenters today.  This leaves me with the space for some new beer.  Have this sort of homegrown hop Rye IPA thingy planned for Thursday AM.  Have to make som eroon in the freezer for the Freshops order.  Also have to dry hop some beers soon.

Judging at Commander SAAZ in Coco Beach Saturday.  Aren't you going to be there, blatz?

couldn't make this year - I thought I was going to have to work at my house (under construction) all weekend, but turns out only Sunday since my GC (aka my father in law) has a class on Saturday.  will have to wait until next year.
