[Also, I definately am in favor the vinyl segment of the the punk industry, they work with colored, picture vinyl, and 7 inches.

Wow, trailer park boys and punk on vinyl, I'm starting to like you RNP

It's nice to appreciate the good things in life.  By the way, I got to meet all the Trailer Park Boys recently during one of their live tours, and they're are just as funny in person.  If your a big TPB fan, I would highly recommend seeing them live if they do another tour.

I had no idea they did live shows. Do they go to the states or will I have to go to NS to see them? not that there is anythign wrong with nova scotia! I love it there. Biked around a goodly portion of it a few years back.

I kind of burned out on the show after the second or third season and didn't actually make it through the movie but those first couple of seasons were shear genius!

Back to the semi-original question, I have a Denon amp that I use to power some very old but great speakers inside and some JBL outdoor speakers for the yard.  I'm not interested in putting the music on an ipod or any such personal device, I need my whole neighborhood to be able to listen with me(they do now and they love it).  But seriously once all this is on a computer, how do I link up to my existing stereo or what new equipment do I need.

what inputs do you have on the amp?  the easiest route is to use a DAC (I'm fond of the musical fidelity v-dac) http://www.musicalfidelity.com/products/V-Series/V-DAC/V-DAC.asp you can use the usb input to the dac and rca to your amp

I think I still have a couple of inputs not being used like the tuner-there are no radio stations out here so I haven't had a tuner for 20 years. I can find a way to make it work.  But that's the kind of setup I'm looking for.  Thanks.

Not being an audiophile, maybe this is a stupid question. What's the advantage of a DAC over just using a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter cable?

It all depends on how anal you want to be.  The sound from most soundcards is relatively terrible - of course, I'm sitting at my laptop with a 3.5 mm plugged directly into a pair of audioengine2 powered speakers and for the money I think it's a very listenable computer setup.  But when sitting down in front of my stereo i want to bypass the noise and go with the usb out.  In layman's terms it's a much superior sound with less background noise.  If you have a digital audio out (optical cable) on your computer and a newish amp with digital audio in (coax, optical) you can plug directly to the amp.  Then you can play your mp3-4's or pandora at full volume and it sounds great.  have to go, j
