Hello Homebrewers! I would like your vote to become a member of the AHA Governing Committee. I believe my experience and passion for beer and homebrewing position me well to represent your interests and promote our hobby. I have been homebrewing for over 20 years, and am closing in on my 500th batch of homebrew. I still have nearly every recipe I’ve brewed over all those years! I am an active member of Jacksonville, Florida’s Cowford Ale Sharing Klub (CASK) and have served as Treasurer, Competition Director, and President. I am actively involved in the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP), and currently serve as an Exam Director. I enjoy the competition aspect of homebrewing, entering and judging as often as I can; I am a Grand Master III/Mead judge. My interest in beer and brewing extends beyond our common hobby, and into my job. As a university biology professor, my current research interests involve investigating the biochemistry of the enzymes that contribute to the phenolic character of Brettanomyces yeast during fermentation of beer and wine. I pretty much think about beer and brewing 24/7! I am particularly interested in advancing homebrewing educational opportunities and promoting quality homebrew competitions. Thank you for considering my qualifications and for your vote!
