It’s a great time to be a homebrewer! These 14 homebrew-related events across the country are right around the corner. Join in the fun of your local beer scene!

Triangle Hops for Hope (Raleigh, NC)

September 14, 2019  |  Tickets: $30

Homebrewers and craft brewers will present their beer at this charity event. The winner will have their recipe brewed by Compass Rose Brewery. The 2018 Hops for Hope raised over $95,000 for Children’s Flight of Hope, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides free air transportation to children in need of specialized medical care.

Homebrewers Against Hunger (Fairmont, WV)

September 14, 2019  |  Tickets: Suggested donation $15 

The Fairmont Home Brewers club will host this homebrew tasting event along with several other clubs in north central West Virginia to raise funds and gather donations for the Mannington Food Pantry and Soup Opera. In addition to the suggested donation for entry to the event, raffle tickets are given in exchange for canned food items.

Yappy Hour Brew-In (Louisville, KY)

September 20, 2019  |  Tickets: Free

The Louisville Area Grain and Extract Research Society (LAGERS) homebrew club teams up with Apocalypse Brew Works (ABW) every year to produce 30 different beers. Club members brew all 30 beers as part of a homebrewing demonstration at the brewery; then ABW ferments the wort commercially and taps it for the public to purchase a few weeks later when the beer is ready. This event has generated nearly $30,000 for the Kentucky Humane Society since 2012.

Northern California Homebrewers Festival (Dobbins, CA)

September 20–22, 2019  |  Tickets: $60

The 22nd annual Northern California Homebrewers Festival (NCHF) will feature live music, a raffle with fantastic prizes, nationally known speakers, a club-only homebrew competition, a premier Brewers Dinner, and much more. The NCHF raises proceeds for Environmental Solutions to help send foster children to summer camp.

NC Homebrew Fest (Raleigh, NC)

September 28, 2019  |  Tickets: $10

The NC Homebrew Fest will feature a full slate of speakers, brew demos, giveaways, and more. The first 100 attendees to purchase tickets to NC Homebrew Fest will take home 5 gallons of wort from Raleigh Brewing Company. A portion of taproom sales during the event will benefit Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

AHA Member Deals

M.A.S.H. Camp (Moseley, VA)

October 4–6, 2019  |  Tickets: $39

The Mentoring Advanced Standards of Homebrewing (MASH) club of Midlothian, VA, is inviting Virginia homebrewers out to Piedmont Hops/Swift Creek Berry Farm for three days of fun, music, games, and, of course, beer! A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Backpacks of Love, which is dedicated to providing weekend meals for school-age children in Central Virginia.

Mashtoberfest (Front Royal, VA)

October 5, 2019  |  Tickets: Free general admission, $20 for homebrew tastings

The Shenandoah Valley Homebrewers Guild and Front Royal Brewing Company are teaming up to host this celebration of homebrewing that will feature homebrew tastings, German-themed food, games, and raffles. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Frederick and Warren County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments.

Great American Beer Festival (Denver, CO)

October 5–7, 2019  |  Tickets: $85

The Pro-Am booth at the Great American Beer Festival is renowned as “the best booth at the fest.” Each of the 100+ beers poured at the booth started out as award-winning homebrew recipes and were then brewed by a craft brewery. Tickets are still available, so don’t miss your opportunity to sample some of the most experimental and unique recipes at the GABF.

Brewing Up a Cure (Pittsburgh, PA)

October 19, 2019  |  Tickets: $50

Now in its 13th year, Brewing Up a Cure has raised more than $300,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event features well over 100 different homebrewed beers, ciders, and meads made by members of various homebrew clubs in the Pittsburgh area, as well as craft beer from many local breweries. The event also features great local food vendors and an auction with over $10,000 worth of great items.

Heretic AHA Rally Wort Giveaway (Fairfield, CA)

October 26, 2019  |  Tickets: Free to AHA members

The first 200 RSVPs to the 6th annual AHA Rally at Heretic Brewing Company will have the opportunity to take home 5 gallons of wort. The event will also feature complimentary tastings of Heretic beer, tours, and raffle prizes. The event is free to AHA members. Nonmembers can join the AHA for a discounted rate at the rally.

The 21st annual Learn to Homebrew Day will be held November 2, 2019. Over 300 homebrewing demonstrations will take place at various locations all over the world. Find an event near you, and invite a friend to attend a local demonstration so that they can learn to homebrew!

Mendocino County Homebrew Festival (Ukiah, CA)

November 2, 2019  |  Tickets: $35

The 3rd annual Mendocino County Homebrew Festival will serve as the anchor event for the Mendocino Mushroom, Wine & Beer Festival. Event attendees will vote for their favorite homebrew for the People’s Choice award, and a separate panel of professional brewers will judge the Brewer’s Choice award. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Good Farm Fund, which funds food stamp matching at local farmers markets and provides small-farm economic development grants.

Long Beach Homebrew Fest (Long Beach, CA)

November 9, 2019  |  Tickets: $40

The annual Long Beach Homebrew Fest is truly a community-organized festival. The event is hosted in the city’s Devon Place neighborhood, where 20 to 25 local homebrewers set up tables to pour their beer to event attendees. Proceeds from the fest benefit We Love Long Beach, a 501(c)(3) that works to help build a safer, healthier, and more vibrant community in all of Long Beach, CA, one block at a time.
