Texas Craft Brewers Guild Needs Your Immediate Help on a Beer-To-Go Vote Today

If you are a beer enthusiast and/or homebrew in the state of Texas, please continue reading. If not, please do not contact the legislative of Texas.

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild has requested that beer enthusiasts take action to support the state’s small and independent brewers and the community of beer drinkers.

Please read the following information provided by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.

Texas Craft Beer Enthusiasts,

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild  is asking you to contact your State Representatives in support of Beer-To-Go sales from Texas breweries.

With strong bipartisan support and 14,500+ petition signatures, House Bill 672 would make Texas the final state in the country to allow Beer-To-Go sales from manufacturing brewery tasting rooms. However, the Texas Legislative Session is nearly over, and HB 672 hasn’t even received a committee hearing.

But there may be another way to achieve Beer-To-Go sales. Tomorrow, April 25, the Texas House of Representatives will be voting on the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Sunset Bill (HB 1545), a comprehensive bill aimed at reforming the TABC and updating state alcohol laws. An amendment will be offered to this bill allowing for Beer-To-Go sales.

With time running out, a vote for Beer-To-Go as an amendment to this Sunset bill may be the last chance we have this session at passing Beer-To-Go and if it doesn’t pass, we will need to wait until the next regular session of the legislature convenes in 2021 to try again.

We need YOU, Texas craft beer supporters and enthusiasts to:

1.   Call your State Representatives to express support for the Beer-To-Go amendment
2.   Tweet your support for the Beer-To-Go amendment
3.   Join us in the House Gallery this Thursday if you can make it to the Capitol

Please visit CraftPAC.org/action for easy instructions on how to do all three of these things. We’re so grateful for your support. This has been a decade long fight and only by raising our collective voices to stand up for small business and consumer rights do we stand a chance at getting Beer-To-Go across the finish line this session!

Cheers!
