A longtime American Homebrewers Association® (AHA) member, Amahl Turczyn has been a contributor to Zymurgy magazine since the mid-1990s, most notably penning several articles for the "You Can Ferment That" column, as well as numerous style spotlights. Amahl had served as associate editor of Zymurgy since 2012 and associate editor of The New Brewer since 2014. He is the author of the Brewers Publications title A Year of Beer, and has written the annual Workman Publishing page-a-day beer calendar A Year of Good Beer since 2009.

Originally from Florida, Josh Brengle has been brewing for around 20 years and has been a professional brewer for about 15, having held various jobs within the industry, most notably six years at Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida where he was lead brewer and production manager. Josh has been in Mexico for eight years at Cervecera Hércules.

Julia is a Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) Certified beer judge, Advanced Cicerone®, medal-winning homebrewer, and experienced zymurgist who has been making beer, mead, and fermented foods since 1994. Julia is the co-author of Beer Pairing: The Essential Guide from the Pairing Pros (Voyager Press, 2015), the CraftBeer.com Beer & Food Course, and co-host of the Sense of Beer Style Show.
