Congratulations to Rob Briscoe! He is the contest winner for the 2011 Great American Beer Fest giveaway. Rob is the lucky registered user on HomebrewersAssociation.org who was drawn to receive airfare for two, three nights of hotel accommodations, and two all-session passes to the 2011 GABF in Denver, CO, September 29th - October 1st!
Rob resides in Rio Rancho, NM and has been passionately homebrewing since 1997and an American Homebrewers Association (AHA) member since 2005. He is a longtime lover of craft beer and has been to GABF four separate years. While he loves many diverse styles of beer he has a particular weakness for wild ales, and always finds himself wandering over to Russian River Brewing Company and Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales to sample some of their open fermented brews every time he goes to GABF.
As a brewer himself, Rob likes to play around with Brettanomyces to see what kind of interesting flavors he can get to develop. He loves brewing Belgian wits and has one fermenting at this very moment. On tap he currently has a hybrid English pale ale, a dark winter saison, and a Belgian amber. Rob is also a member of the Dukes of Ale homebrew club based out of Albuquerque, NM. Earlier this year Rob won Best of Show in his homebrew club's Enchanted Brewing Challenge with entry The Leftorium, a Flanders Red Ale.
The AHA extends our congratulations to Rob and also a hearty Thank You for his enthusiasm and participation in brewing and the AHA. It is homebrewers like him that form the backbone of the homebrewing community. Cheers!
