Cold Brewed?

The beer is great.  How would some one go about cold brewing?

Just use the same process as when you "triple hop".   ::) ;D

Seriously, It's just marketing talk.  It's a lager, so it's brewed "cold" compared to an ale.

they use cold fusion to heat the kettles.

It's taken up in a near orbital vehicle and boiled at 70*f.

Have seen this at the beer store. What's it taste like?

BTW I wasn't all that impressed with Sam Adams' version.

Yeah it was drinkable, I might even have a couple.  Wouldn't be a go to though.

The sad part is that several stores here have taken the Guiness FES off of the shelf to open up a spot for this stuff.

I had a bottle or two at a restaurant.  I found it pretty good, a nice example of a Schwartzbier in my opinion.

I like the FES, but it doesn't rate the premium they charge for it IMO.  I'll save a few dollars and get the regular ol' Extra Stout and have two more bottles to boot.

I have not tried the Black Lager.  But I did try whatever it was they rolled out as their anniversary beer a couple years back (100th anniversary?).  I did not like it, did not finish it, and they were giving it out free that night.

It'll be back. ;)

FES is one of my all time favorites. Every time I drink this beer it is exactly the same as the last time. Which is pretty impressive IMO.

I'm with you there euge.  Guiness FES comes the closest to what I remember tasting in the local pubs when I visited Ireland.  Of course it is lacking the STRONG aroma of cigarette smoke, but that is a positive in my humble opinion.   ;)

Pricewise - my go to beer store has 20% off of all beers on Fridays, so I buy it then.  That gets it down to $2/bottle before taxes.
