Give me plenty of notice, I'm 4 hours away, but never turn down a trip to the mountains.

Oyster House only makes that one beer in house and they use a SABCO system. It is a pretty tasty stout and you will only find it on tap at the restaurant which is easy to miss. The rest of their brews are made by French Broad (another Asheville brewery).

I really liked the Brew and View place in Asheville with the huge ape on top of the building.  I'm not sure if it's still open.

We are starting to plan a trip there perhaps this summer.  Mike, is there a hotel or B&B you know of or can recommend for a long weekend?  I appreciate all the other good links.

I generally stay on points from work travel when I go. I don't think you'd go wrong with any B&B, the main hotel downtown closest to the action is a roach motel that is not associated with any chain. If you want to spend tons of money and be pampered then Grove Park Inn would be the place to go.

Here is my favorite place to stay in Asheville, I've spend 3 of my Asheville trips here.  A little on the pricey side but a superb place to stay with the better half.
