I was right the first time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brewers_Association

"Every year the AHA hosts the following events:

* National Homebrew Competition
* Homebrew Con (previously known as the National Homebrewers Conference) which includes the finals of the National Homebrew Competition, held the third week in June"

Registration just opened... like yesterday or a couple days ago. They always say it sells out quickly, but it never seems to.  Also depends on the venue.  I went to NHC San Diego back in 2014 which I think eventually did "sell out".  I heard (so this is just a rumor) that both Baltimore and Minneapolis were "smaller" but they still could have hit max capacity. That said, still plenty of time to sign up!

I don’t know the capacity limit this year, but registration on Tuesday was 13% ahead of last year.

The conference date is always in June, but dates can change due to the availability of the Conference center. It is later than usual this year.

We're now at 26% ahead of last year's Homebrew Con registration--so pretty fast pace on registration.

The host hotel sold out pretty quickly, but we have several others with discounted prices available for attendees.  Homebrew Con details are on the conference website: https://www.homebrewcon.org/

That’s good news, I think.

My anecdotal experience is that many I have talked to have said “Homebrewcon is in Portland? Wow, I’ve  been wanting to go there.” Maybe that will explain the upward registration?
