« on: February 09, 2010, 07:26:40 pm »
I ordered this fermenter the other day and was wondering if anyone had tried it before?

Hi bo, yes i have one of those, ain't to proud of it either, its a 14 gal, pet-co sells them as dog food storage bins, it has a 2 piece rim on top, really hard to tell if it clean, can't see it, handles not worth doodly sqat when full, thats a really high price too,
i used mine a couple times an put it away, never used it again. sorry for the bad review, hope you like yours better than me.

bo_gator,          can you see what i ment about the 2-piece rim, the whole top comes off like a standard bucket fermenter, i haven't been able to get mine off, thats why i''m leary of it, can't see on inside under rim. i did add a drain valve to mine for gravity transfers.
a poster on another board had drilled holes around the outside of the top so it would flex some to get the whole top off. wish i could remember who or witch board he was on, he had detail instruction on how to get the top off.
how do you like those handles?  they don't work to good for me, i'm 65yr 140lb,  you look like a Hoss tho

Using it might take some planning. Picking it up with even 10 gallons makes it fairly unwieldy.
