Just retired and I've just brewed my first IPA, I think it came out pretty good. I brewed a little back over 20yrs ago and now have the time again. This morning I brewed a "summer ale". It's sitting in my fermenter with all those little fellas getting ready to eat on that sugar. I'm not looking to get too complicated at this time. Just looking forward to drinking and sharing my beers with friends.

welcome (back)

I approve of keeping it simple. I also approve of getting crazy with it but that's jut the way I roll.

Welcome back!

And is anyone else amazed that Fubar was still available as a user name?  :o

That one is usually gone really quickly.

Welcome Don. Pretty nice place for old retired guys like you, Denny and me to hang out and talk beer. You can always make it more complicated later, or not.  The take away is that this is a well behaved forum, and we all learn from each other. There are some really knowledgable brewers on here, even some pros, and they all have some good advice that can be listened to.

I've been here a few months and I can say that hopfenundmalz is correct in saying that this is a very well behaved forum. People here have been very polite and generous as well as knowledgeable. Don't be afraid to ask anything.
Welcome!

Congrats on retirement and welcome back.  Hopefully with the advances in homebrewing, you'll find it enjoyable and make some great beer.

Just remember, hops are available from other places that the cans of pre-hopped malt extract and fleischmann's yeast is for bread :)
