Oreos?
« on: May 04, 2017, 11:59:09 am »
So I recently read an article on a beer called Hornswoggler (w/ Oreos) from The Veil Brewing Co. "We took our 7% robust chocolate milk stout Hornswoggler and conditioned it on hundreds of pounds of Oreo cookies. If you like Oreo cookies, this is a must try." Now i've added fruit to beer in secondary. I've added extract and juices in secondary. But for the fruit i had to be careful to clean and sanitize the peels to ensure no spoiled batches.

My question is how did they do the oreos? Would you just put em in the fermenter or what? I'm not planning to try this myself as I don't think i'm skilled enough for that yet. But i am curious about how people do go about something like that.

I think you're right, they just racked on top of Oreos. They break down into mush in milk, so
I imagine the same would happen in beer.
