Well, yeah, can't top that one for the name... but this time of year my fave is Great Lakes Ohio City Oatmeal Stout.   It makes far too brief an appearance, and like Ale Farmer's porter, perfect for the weather.

As it's a night for dark deeds and evil spirits, I'm drinking Blue Bloods Justifiable Hopicide. It's a NEIPA. I'm also kegging my Gargoyle Cali Pils.

I enjoyed my Pumpernickel Porter last evening and shared it with a fellow brewer.

I started with a duvel last night. I like how the comments part of the bjcp for that style are “
References to the devil are included in the names of many commercial examples of this style, referring to their potent alcoholic strength and as a tribute to the original example (Duvel). “

Seemed appropriate.

Couldn't find Nosferatu.  Sold out quickly here. So I settled for some dragons milk, old Rasputin, and Great Lakes oatmeal stout.

Hope you like the oatmeal, Joe.  I think it's a real under-the-radar brew.

To be honest, the real spooky beer is... Pumpkin beer. First it came for your latte, then your candles. Later it was your soap, your air freshener in your car. Lately, it came for your wings. In three years, we'll have pumpkin spice as our national bird. In five, all drinks will come as pumpkin spice unless specifically requested otherwise. In as little as ten years, all other spices will be banned.

Also, what happened to oatmeal stout?I feel like it really dropped off the radar 6 years ago.

Joe, the Nosferatu was exceptionally good this year.  We bought 4 four-packs of it and still have one or two beers left.  Sorry youo could not find it.  It went pretty quickly.

You're not making this any easier on me...

I went to Binny's shortly after it was released and the small amount they received was gone.  My loss.

I celebrated International Stout Day yesterday with a pint of my Irish stout. Paired it with butternut squash soup, and a roasted beet and squash salad.  Fine autumnal fare.

Speaking of "autumnal" is anyone else annoyed by that stupid Bud Light commercial where the guy in the bar wants "an autumnal mead....something nice and malty"?
