beersmith holding me for ransom?
« on: May 25, 2019, 03:07:03 pm »
When the third version of beersmith came out, I decided not to update being satisfied with the 2nd version I had been using. In fact, I had been using it this morning for a beer I was brewing.

Just now as I am trying to enter it to update my data I cannot enter. I get a message saying my trial version is up and I need to activate it. I did years ago and have been using it monthly.

My question is: am I being held for ransom in order to update to the third version? I don't recall receiving any message that my version was being deactivated.

I think I've seen Brad Smith post on here, but it's been years. I wouldn't assume he'll see this.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

My guess is your system lost the activation key.  Write to Brad through his website.  He’s pretty good with taking care of issues pretty quickly.

I’ve had great response from Brad himself with activation or just general software issues usually same day .
