I am considering purchasing a pH meter but then I saw pH stabilizer that claims it will bring your pH to 5.2 regardless of starting point. Is it still worth buying a pH meter if I can just buy the stabilizer and be done with it?

It never performed as advertised for me. Checked with a pH meter. I will say that I like PBW and Star San.
Buy a pH meter and calibration, cleaning, and storage solutions

Don't waste your money! Buy the pH meter. It has more value for your money!

The reviews on that stuff are horrible. I can’t understand why they still sell it. I believe you’ll be a better brewer if you learn to control pH properly.

I'm another one who tried it. Didn't work as claimed and gave the beer an indescribably weird flavor.

I agree with others. Buy a pH meter and the calibration solutions. Martin can also fill you in on the disadvantages of the 5.2 stabilizer.
