Has anyone ever brewed with mild malt instead of Marris otter? Some research seems to tell me that's it's different from Marris otter but wondering how different. Don't really wanna go out of my way it order it when I can just get MO at my LHBS. Any experience or advice definitely welcomed

Maris Other is a variety. We usually get Pale Ale Malt, there is a Low Color Maris Otter that is not kilned as high of temp.

Mild Malt could be MO or other malting varieties. I've used it sometime back, sweet and nutty flavor. I need to brew another Mild using one of Ron Pattinson's recipes.

Since I can’t typically get real Mild malt, I’ve found that light Munich malt is a somewhat workable substitute.

I just brewed a brown ale using Muntons Mild. I had nothing to compare it with at the time but I did like the flavor of the unmilled malt. It also gave the beer a slight nutty flavor as far as I could tell. Again, nothing on hand to compare but overall I like the malt and will use again.

Just a note.  There was a thread here a while back that stated that all Maris Otter does not contain 100% of that variety.  The consensus was that the only one that was 100% of the Maris Otter barley variety was Crisp.  The others are Maris Otter mixed with other pale/pilsner varieties.

I only use the one from Crisp and like it in my porters, stouts, and other English beers like my ESB.

Just a note.  There was a thread here a while back that stated that all Maris Otter does not contain 100% of that variety.  The consensus was that the only one that was 100% of the Maris Otter barley variety was Crisp.  The others are Maris Otter mixed with other pale/pilsner varieties.

+1. I think Ron Pattinson said there’s a lot more Maris Otter sold than grown.

Muntons is the one in looking at 55 pound sack is pretty good price atm

Yes he did say that. Blending started several years back when the summer weather became warmer in England. There were complaints of haze due to higher protein levels.

Another maltster that would be all MO is Warmonger. They, or the maltings owner, owns the rights to MO. A similar situation is Simpsons owning the Golden Promise variety.
