Just a note. There was a thread here a while back that stated that all Maris Otter does not contain 100% of that variety. The consensus was that the only one that was 100% of the Maris Otter barley variety was Crisp. The others are Maris Otter mixed with other pale/pilsner varieties.I only use the one from Crisp and like it in my porters, stouts, and other English beers like my ESB.
I just brewed a brown ale using Muntons Mild. I had nothing to compare it with at the time but I did like the flavor of the unmilled malt. It also gave the beer a slight nutty flavor as far as I could tell. Again, nothing on hand to compare but overall I like the malt and will use again.
