Good luck Mike!
« on: February 21, 2011, 12:14:25 pm »
The 2011 Beer Drinker of the Year competition is this Saturday, and Mike Dixon (mdixon) is one of the finalists.  Best of luck Mike!

My friend Phil Farrell is also a finalist, for those who know him.  And hey, I just realized he's wearing a shirt from the 20th anniversary of Big Time Brewing in Seattle!   Best of luck Phil!

James Clark - I don't think I know that guy.  Is he here under some other name . . . ?

Go, Phil!  Maybe the third time will be a charm for the rubber chicken man!

He's going for a new world record!
You have to admire his persistence.

I'm thinking that he's already got the world record. anyone else competed in this 3 times?

Good luck to both Mike & Phil, they're both good guys that give back a lot to homebrewing. Don't know anything about James, but he'd probably be a decent guy to share a beer with

Thanks guys, we're off for Denver tomorrow...

FWIW - I hope Phil and his chicken get to compete a fifth time ;)

James seems like a great guy. I'm just happy to be able to go to the show!!!

Doubtful, I head to the airport in 30 minutes and have a severe headcold, can hardly talk due to my throat being sore and my ear is starting to ache...I just happy to be able to participate!!!

PS - If anyone reading this is going to be a judge at the festivities, yes, I accept pity votes  ;)

If this is Phil's 4th time I don't believe anyone is a shoe in, everyone is very well qualified.  We'll see what happens.

Mike, if you don't win this year then maybe next year - I might judge :)  You've always gotten my vote when I review resumes.

Good luck though, the judges are usually beer writers, past winners, and Chris Black from Falling Rock.

Hey Tom....I didn't realize until now that you were the 2006 winner.

Is it too late to say congrats.

I'll say it anyway.  :)
