I brewed an APA today ;D

That reminds me, gotta toss in the dry hops to the American Wheat I brewed last weekend.  Thanks.

I was thinking I should assemble my new to me all grain gear and move some water around to get used to how it works prior to my first all grain batch...but, the past couple days I've been thinking I should just go for it and see what happens with some ingredients.  I've got an 8 gallon HLT, 85 qt. cooler, 20 gal. brewpot, propane cooker, pump, smallish IC. Any suggestions to push me over the edge? Or, should I practice first.

Set it up and practice.  But that doesn't take that long, practice for a while and then brew something easy. :)

Hoping to inaugurate my newly assembled Blichmann Top Tier system in the next few days. Whatevah the day, I'm planning to brew what I'm calling Bravo Company (with apologies and reverence to any and all armed forces personnel out there).  The second in my series of single hopped American-style pale ales. This time with Bravo hops (see this link for linage).

definitely interested to hear your comments - I made an All Bravo back in '07 and I had mixed feelings about it, but some club friends still ask if I'll make that again to this day.

Brewing my vienna in about 5-6 hours when I cut out of work.  Still trying to zone this one in - my last few iterations have been good but not what I was looking for - 87% Vienna, 8% Munich II, 5% Caramunich I

Hoping it turns out like the vienna I judged last weekend for the Blowoff - man that was good.

Fingers crossed...

Looks like I'll be racking the wee heavy into a keg for aging as well this weekend.  Finished up at 1.035 down from 1.126.  FG was a couple points higher than I was projecting but pretty close actually.  This one is officially, but just barely, a twelve percenter.

The sample tasted pretty good.  Upped the hopping a little this year and the alcohol is a smidge higher and it didn't taste as cloying as last years batch.  We'll see how it turns out in a few months.

Got a full weekend planned. Brewing up an English Brown Ale and a Anchor Steam clone along with bottling a German Pilsner for the spring time.  ;D

As it's still the weekend in the UK, and we only have a three-day week before the next four-day weekend (some royalty is getting married), it's American Stout for me today. My MiL is coming for the birth of our next child, so we'll need stout for her.

I got so busy this past weekend, I never got around to kegging my strawberry cider.  That'll be the first order of business when I get home tonight.    ;)
