In MY Yard, drinking MY homebrew, Driving MY riding mower?
No other variables considered or allowed...never deviating from inside the yard.
(I realize my judgement may be rendered poorer than if sober so don't go off subject based upon poor judgement)

given compliance with your 'ground' rules, it's a sorta free country, so go for it. it comes down to your judgement - off topic or not. but, as you recognize, your judgement is a sliding scale which in large part comes down to your lawnmower beer.

most people describe lawnmower beer using terms like light, easy drinking, refreshing, low-alcohol, etc. on the other hand, my lawnmower beer is called Brush-hog Stout, a bruiser of an RIS and anything but light or low-alcohol (though I think it's easy drinking). so I say go for it, but use your judgement. and no matter what maxieboy says, don't give the ossifers an easy bust by going no-pants. I think even Weaze would give you a nod for wearing a kilt in this situation.

I think they can still get you if the little tractor is in operation outside your house. That being said I regularly push a mower while intoxicated. Either way it's still a PUI... ;)

I'd only get nervous if you're in MY Yard, drinking MY homebrew, Driving MY riding mower...

I would be grateful for the endeavor. I hate mowing my yard. Not enough beer in the world...

If I had a lawn it would be a different story.

If you're in your yard and you're not hurting anyone or disturbing other's peaceful enjoyment..... you should be able to do what ever the hell you want to do!

As a person that has almost lost two fingers to power equipment while sober bc lack of caution and attention I don't think drinking while doing anything like that is smart but if your tractor is like mine and will kill if you get off the seat and you don't have the mower deck going and your just cruising the yard for kicks  and giggles I don't see why not

Here in Iowa a guy did get charged with DUI for driving his lawn tractor to the store to buy more beer.  If he had stayed in the ditches he may have been okay but from what I read he was also working on a public intox charge.

I say go for it but within reason.  Just because you won't feel the blade cut your foot off doesn't make your foot still there and I'd avoid areas with very small trees that you want to keep.
