Well, they have done it again. Or rather are still doing it... ;D
Avery White Rascal is a good tasting belgian wit.  There is corriander
but more pronounced is a faint after twinge of orange.  Bottle conditioned
and yes that is actual yeast you will see ....dunno how it might proliferate
in a grow attempt but that is an entire different post.

Pour is a cloudy pils color...aroma is bready belgian

Not bad at all and I will prolly be buying more of this when I find it available.

I can get it year round. Never tried it. Will do so. Soon.

Did they actually use orange, or is the "twinge of orange" from the coriander, the way it's supposed to be?

Denny, the bottle says "Curacao" orange peel....so that is what ya get.

OK, that's for bittering, the trad way.  That means that the orange you're detecting is from the coriander.

That was my 1st impression as well tom, then against my best judgement, I tried again and
well, I can do this no problemo...
Tho not my fav avery beer, I liked it my second time around....and third...et al...

I tried it a couple of times, but it's been a while.  I might buy another bottle, but my wife isn't a fan either.

Stumbled upon a nice pairing.  Took some garden fresh Okra ( I usually detest the stuff
unless it is in Gumbo) and cut it length wise split in half...then sprayed it with Olive Oil spray
then sprinkled with some cajun blacken spices...then put it in the oven on broil until char starts to show.

Really went well with this beer...just sayin.

Just got back from the beer store with some of this beer. The aroma is a little putrescent- but I find this to be the case often with belgian-styles. The flavor is mild- a little citrusy and a faint bitterness which I assume to be the Curacao. I really can't detect the coriander. The appearance is light golden and hazy. Not much head formation.

Aaagh. Up or down? I've only had two. I was contemplating this very thing. I got coriander in the nose with the second glass. Right now I'm like: meh. But I'm thinking Hoegaarden as the benchmark. This one lacks the punchiness in the right areas but is well made. On the fence as not remarkable, though if it was my very first introduction to the style... What can I say? Not a certified judge and the ol'taster might be different in a few hours- days even.

Though- a hot bowl of chili springs to mind when drinking this beer. And I happen to have some tasty brisket chili in the freezer... 8)
