NHC Hotel Nearly Full
« on: January 13, 2010, 05:41:26 am »
If you plan on attending the National Homebrew Conference this summer, call TODAY to book a room (866-837-4278). All of the economy rooms ($109) are already booked, most of the Deluxe rooms ($129) are gone, and there is only a limited number of Club rooms ($149) available. I don't know if they'll set up a wait list for the economy rooms (like in years past), but don't wait and gamble on it.  :(

I was the Local Committee Chairman in Cincinnati in 2008. We dealt with a lot of people who did not book ahead, and got lucky with finding enough rooms for all. Don't put yourself in that situation.

And while you're at it, send in your conference registration too. I don't know what the capacity limits are this year, but don't get shut out of something you want to attend. For several years in a row the conference has been booked into ever bigger spaces, and we thought we had enough room to handle record growth, and it's still filled up.

With that said, I can't wait! Now I need to plan my brewing schedule so I'm ready for Club Night. I hope to see you there!

Thanks for the update! I've already got mine booked, but thought I'd give this one a bump for those who haven't.  :)

Gosh, I almost gave me a heart attack. I searched my e-mail for a confirmation and couldn’t find any. So I called the hotel to confirm that I’m all set. Now I feel much better.

We booked and registered early.  It will be good to see people again (like Jeff), and meet some new people (like Kai).

It is one of our favorite thing to do during the year.

Man... I wish I could go, but I'm putting all of my extra cash into my new brewstand this year. Maybe...next year.

Club rooms are larger and a little more upscale than the regular rooms. If you're squeezing an extra person or two in there, it's probably worth the upgrade.

It is true that the the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel, host of the 2010 AHA National Homebrewers Conference in Minneapolis, has sold out of all of their Traditional Rooms.  They are offering Deluxe Rooms at a rate of $129 as well as suites and Club Rooms for more (but discounted from the regular rate) for people registering for the AHA Conference.  The Sheraton will continue to offer the group rates on their remaining rooms until the hotel is completely sold out.

We will also be opening an overflow hotel next door to the Sheraton that will be honoring the $109 room rate.  We will post information on the overflow hotel shortly.

If you haven't checked it out, we have posted speakers to the site along with their bios on the conference website.  We'll be posting the seminar titles soon, along with a list of the clubs that have already signed up to pariticipate in Club Night.

This is going to be a great conference! I knew it was going to be big, but I did not expect the hotel to fill up as fast as it has.  If you haven’t already registered for the conference, be sure to do so ASAP as it will assuredly sell out this year.

See www.AHAConference.org for conference details and to register.

See you in Minneapolis.

Dang,
This is the second one I can't make because of job complications....

I ain't got one...

:(
Oh well, maybe next year. Hoist one for me.
I'd say something witty down here, but I'm at a bit of a disadvantage in that department.

When is the banquet?  I'm trying to decide if I should book for 3 nights or just 2.
On Tap: IPA, Amber, Emma's Brown, Barleywine

You can cancel the day before. I ended up reserving 4 days and plan to figure out which days I'll keep once I know more about the schedule.

I will be renting out my garage to anyone who can't get a room.  I think I can fit 30 cots. :)

Any word on pre-event activities?  The only pre-event I know of so far are the BJCP exams.
