Anyone have a good recommendation (source) for procuring a barrel for aging ales?

I know of http://www.barrelsonline.com/, but I thought I'd ask the forum members before I make the leap.

They head distiller from balcones posted on here a while back and my club made a group buy. they were 20L barrels and it worked out to about $55 per barrel shipped. They are very fresh and smell lovely. My first batch is still in there so I can't speak to the flavour contribution. He says he had them regularly. In fact my club is already organizing the next round.

They have three or four regular products and the barrels will have had 1 or 2 types in them at times (they use each barrel for 2 batches before disposing of them) One of the products is a peated whisky though so you might want to check with him about that unless you don't mind the peat.

From the description it seems like it would be a more restrained flavor than a new American or French barrel.

I've seen morebeer's barrels and will take them into consideration as well. Sounds like a quality barrel for sure. Looks like the wood is aged for three years prior to manufacturing.

It's a long way to ship from WA to DE.   It might be worth it though.

Looking at the woodenville site the one difference is that woodenville only uses each barrel for 1 fill while baclones uses each for 2 fills so that might make a difference. I am counting on it making some differnce as I have a BW in there for nearly three weeks now and it's going to be super oakey if that second fill didn't strip more of the oak.

I'd like to make a batch of Denny's VBIP and secondary in a barrel for some predetermined amount of time. A barleywine would also be a good candidate.
