I think this is the only way a thread can possibly not go off topic. It's Seinfeld-ish; a thread about nothing. I'll start....

Anybody else here throw away their money on Lottery tix? I think it's worth it every now and then to plop down a fiver and then kick back with a beer and fantasize about what you'd do with the winnings.

I do occasionally.  Like you say, it's worth a few bucks to dream!

I'll get a scratch off once or twice a year. I like to dream  ;D

I would like to win a smallish sum, enough to pay off a house and set aside some money for retirement. I think a large pot would bring too much unwanted attention.

Yeah, I do it occasionally for the few days of fantasizing about what I'd do with all that money.  $10M or so after taxes would be nice  ;)

$10 mil after taxes.  I might have to build a house that had a 7 barrel brewery in the basement, a refrigerated room (with at least 7 serving tanks), and an awesome custom bar that opened up to a patio next to the pool.   ;D

we play every drawing.  its a combination of our birthdates and some other important numbers to us.  I think I would implode if I ever found out that those numbers won, so I am obligated to play for insurance against that event.

we typically hit 3 numbers a few times a year, so it really only costs us like $30-$40.  Have hit 4 twice, so I figure thusfar we're not too far behind.

yes, I know its an idiot tax.

OK, you coordinate, and figure out how much we actually have to pay via paypal to end up with the right amount.
Five dollar buy in, plus the paypal tax. Scan and email all lottery tix to each participant.
We need to know who you are and where you live - you know to make sure you pay up. ;)

I just want $300,000. Enough to burn the mortgage, buy a couple of new cars, and stash some away for a sunny day to play in.

I can waste a good commute in or out just dreaming of the big win...I don't frequently buy tix unless the jackpot is over $50-75M...

Cuz $20MM just wont do? The thresholds people use to play are funny sometimes. Don't forget you could be the sole winner of 20MM or be a partial winner of 80MM and actually get less. I play sporadically too - for various wacky reasons.

I have never played,
but still like the fantasy from time to time.

You dreaming boys in Colorado sure do fund some kickin projects though,
Great Outdoors Colorado funded from lottery proceeds makes it all worthwhile IMO.

Don't forget to play ;D
