I hear they throw feces all over your organic vegetables  :o

Yes, but it is ORGANIC feces!

Just wait till GMO feces comes out.  You'll have to pay Monsanto on a per-crap basis!

This seems like the same people caused the current out breaks of measles, mumps and rubella schools are currently dealing with.  They rallied around the cry that vaccines cause autism (in some tiny unquantifiable % of cases) and now a large number kids are coming down with diseases we had almost beaten.

What most of these people need to see is what life was like before we started to take control of parts of our environment.  I don't think they would be as concerned with a little alcohol and fish air bladder if they had hunt in the woods for meat, wonder the hills looking for greens and their life expectancy was 43 years.

Reminds of when Rush sang:

"He's got a problem with his poisons
But you know he'll find a cure
 He's cleaning up his systems
 To keep his nature pure"

We will find the balance but it takes time.

I love the question... "Is beer healthy?" Umm, yeah, I don't know about you, but I'm not drinking beer for nutritional value.

Gelatin, fish bladder and beaver ass juice are a problem if you are vegetarian because they are all animal byproducts.

First two yes. If collecting the third (that should be number two right?) doesn't kill the beaver then it's just like milk.

I'm not so sure she really did much fact checking.  "It was used in medicine well into the 18th century, when castor oil – so named to take advantage of castoreum’s popularity – took over in popularity. Small wonder that sometime over the last 2000 years or more someone wondered would happen if you added it to food . . ."

Isn't castor oil pressed from the castor seed?  The pulp can be used to make Risin.

Me thinks she is misapplying the similarity of the name.  YMMV

True, though that doesn't preclude the possibility that both were named after the beaver's castor sac.

But not all vegetarians consume animal byproducts, even those that do not require killing animals. Some vegetarians are almost vegans but are not quite as strict (e.g. they may wear leather but not eat meat or any animal byproducts) so for them, like vegans, all animal byproducts are off the table.
