TGIF

The thing that always boggled my mind about TGIF is how the hell have they maintained a business model that is only open on Friday.... And Ruby Tuesday, even worse.

Keith don't you know that "in there, it's always Friday? " makes it a little easier to understand

Oh, that's cool. But when you walk out you still have to go to work the next day. That sucks.

Keith I know you keep saying start a brewery if you don't want to make money, well I can tell you I never got rich there either and put in 70 hour weeks for a couple years. Fine when I was in my 20's but really not fun in my 40s. And no beer consumption at work

Wasn't TGIF recently sued for overcharging for beer?
Corn is a fine adjunct in beer.

And don't buy stale beer.

No, several locations in NY area were under investigation for watering down liquor. To the point of serving non spirit products as scotch I believe. Don't remember all the details, but I got out just in time. They are not running endless appetizers to make money, but to try to win back business at least in my eyes

I used to go to the tgif in Manhattan all the time for lunch when I was there for business...my customers favorite place to go. Now I know why we never caught a buzz!

I've worked in the restaurant business before. Hard work for sure. From the very bottom to the very top.

FTR I still hope to make some money someday. I'm naive.

Lol, yes in 20 years I spent 3 as hourly, 10 as a KM and a little over 7 as a GM. GM was a lot more fun but a different world from KM

I remembered why the thought of a lawsuit against them stuck in my brain. I thought it had to do with not printing prices, then charging more than normal?

Last time I was at a TGIF was when several of my friends and I were on our way back from a camping trip…we all learned the hard way that the beers were $9 a pop. (Fat Tire, in a 16oz glass.)

We won't be doing that when we go backpacking again this year.

for sure! regular stop on my travels through o'hare. not many choices to eat on that wing between that and skyfox place.
