o-ring lube for corny kegs?
« on: March 14, 2015, 09:42:34 pm »
I got an old corny keg set up from a neighbor that got out of brewing 6-7 years ago.  He said I needed to lube the lid o-ring with something but he couldn't remember what it was.  I can't find that at the online brew suppliers.  Anyone have info on this?

It's called Keg Lube. Your LHBS should have it.

Or you can pick up silicon grease from your local Lowes or Home Depot. Look in the faucet repair supplies.

I've got a leaky cornie lid and just picked up some keg lube. How much do you use?  I assume a light coating all the way around?

Yes.  I put a small dab on the tip of my index finger then rub that all around all sides of the o-ring.

^^This. You will throw your nasty Keg Lube away. It washes away in hot water.

This sounds like a good thing to me. Am I missing something?
