Most economical canning machine for home brew?
« on: May 01, 2017, 03:06:50 pm »
Hi,

I'm thinking of canning my beers, instead of bottling. Saw october can seamer http://oktoberdesign.com/ but I think it's still too expensive $1,500 for home use, considering the additional material cost of $.30 - $.40 / can. Are there any cheaper solutions?

Thanks,
Youngin

That's the cheapest I've seen. You may be able to find a mobile canner that is partnered with a homebrew club to do small runs.

Out of curiosity why would you can.  I get the sunk cost of a canner but at .30/cn and let's say 48 cn per batch that $14 you have to spend every time you package.  At least with bottles you can reuse them.
Brew what you like & brew often.
