What's Brewing This Weekend - 8/13 Edition
« on: August 11, 2010, 12:23:37 pm »
Ping?

For me, it's time to keg the Saison Ordinaire and quite possibly the Caledonian Saison.

I feel like I should get an IPA or some such in the tank in preparation for the move. Maybe I'll borrow a Denny play and do a RYE DIPA or some such so it'll gracefully age into a Rye Barleywine if I don't drink enough of it during the move.

I did a rye DIPA a few years back.  Took a long time to mellow out!

No brewing for me this weekend.  It 's supposed to be in the 90s, so I'm gonna put a chair in the river, read a book, and drink!

It will be in the 90s this weekend with ~85%+ humidity, but I'm manning up and brewing some Dortmunder on Sunday morning.

Forgot to add - racking Fest '10 as well.

No brewing for me, but I'll be kegging the APA I made last weekend, and a smoked dopplebock I made a while ago.

Oktoberfest - we are doing a German Theme for our Christmas Party so making it for that - might attempt to do a 10 gallon batch tho (usually do 5) as this is my all-time favorite beer and I want to be able to drink more than a few glasses at the party.

Getting in and out of bed is still the worst part of the day.
Once I'm up and around its manageable but every once in a while they poke me a bit as if to say Hey, we're still here :o

Fullers ESB clone on Saturday of which I'll use the 1968 cake for a follow-up Alaskan Smoked Porter clone.
Just brew it...

Probably will be bottling Saison, and tapping my Golden Ale (think English lawnmower beer) along with making large volumes of plum wine as the plum glut comes in from the orchard.

I'm going to take a shot at a witbier using orange marmalade a friend of mine made from the bitter orange trees in our backyard.

Cleaning the pantry out with an American Wheat (try out Citra hops for first time) and maybe an English Bitter if all goes well. Got all of my racking/kegging done during the week, though may bottle a few for gifts/competitions from the kegs. Much consumption anticipated with company (my bro, a fellow brewer) in town.

brewing a dubbel on fri (hopefully).  gonna have .5lb of figs and 1lb of dates.  We shall see what it turns out like.  I'm pretty excited.

Also gotta keep my saison happy at 80F...

Sniffing sour airlocks too...
