I sadly report that Barney, the founder and owner of the Moonshiner's Reunion passed away to Hillbilly Heaven yesterday after several years battling cancer.

The status of future festivals held at his place is unknown at this time.

According to his wife Debbie the staff at the palliative care unit allowed friends and family to stand around him playing their instruments and singing and that's what they were doing when he passed. That's the way it should have been.

I'm mad as dirt for missing this. Crap in my hand chicken, we dropped the pile on this one.

I'm sorry to say we all need a kick in the a$$ to get us going about 4 months ahead of time. The crowd here at the aha forum will get there for sure. I hope next year we all can make it and send Barney's soul off in a good ol' homebrewed fashion.

I want to apologize for all that said they would make, I'm damn sorry I missed this.

You know we have a very nice bluegrassfest 4 miles up from me every year and you know what I think I did see Barney at this fest.

Edit "That was a few years back though."
