CO2 tank disc rupture
« on: May 13, 2023, 03:23:14 pm »
20# full tank the disc ruptured this morning. Luckily outside. Morning sun was on the tank for a couple hours. Tank overfilled perhaps? I see them out in the sun on the back of the delivery trucks all the time.

Not sure what you are referring to when you say disc rupture. Can you expound? Would be nearly impossible to overfill in my opinion.

There’s a frangible disc on the valve. Opposite side of the threads for regulator. Brass circle capwith holes in it. Under cap is a disc designed to rupture at a certain pressure.

Embarrassing as it may be, I never knew that was a PRV. Good to know!
