My colleagues all perked up when I said Horchata! They got real excited.
Remember I'm the only Anglo here...?
They say it isn't cooked but soaked and strained.
Euge ask them more about this technique. I have heard of it being done this way but cant imagine how it would work. It wont be creamy at all. How long do they soak it for?
Basmati rice makes delicious horchata,
I dont like it but a lot of people put lime zest in horchata.
1verticle, check out the milk discussion in the cheese thread, or was it the sausage thread? I just know the milk discussion is not in the milk thread.
Anyway, to my surprise, mrnate pointed out that some dairies have permits to sell raw milk to the public in PA.. We have been getting raw un-homogenized milk right from the farm lately. Wonderful stuff.
Pasteurization is a lot of hooey. They have been ruining our milk for years, and they have laws that make the dairies ruin it too.
