Going back in for surgery in a week.
« on: January 20, 2011, 05:12:42 pm »
I'm getting my pipes reconnected and losing the oh-so sporty and trendy colostomy bag.   Doc says it should go way easier and much less invasive since I'm not deathly ill this time.

So... to celebrate I made a stout,  it should be ready to bottle or keg by the time I get out and give everything a chance to heal.  This is the first batch I've made since my surgery this past fall... it was a bit of a trick a couple of times getting things transferred and moving things around.

Glad to hear it man! I hope all goes well for you, and you'll be in my thoughts. Nothing like getting to brerwing again.

Good luck Dean!  Hope all goes well and you can have a full recovery, so that you can enjoy that stout.

Oh that's fantastic Dean! I had wanted to ask you about it earlier but that can be a little too personal and a sensitive subject for many.

The thought/chance of having to wear one of those things has been a particular terror of mine along with renal failure and diabetes. But its very good that they just temporarily rerouted your plumbing- hopefully it all goes well. My prayers will be with you.

Hopefully your taster will be back in good working order by the time the stout is ready.  ;D

Yes.  It's rough to go through life without being able to taste your homebrew.  Good luck!

Hope it all goes as planned. Don't know you (yet) or of you.... but I every time I see someone having a harder time than my in comparison benign challenges I count my blessings. I wish you strength.

I must have missed that part - his taster is at the opposite end of the surgery. How is his taster broke?

Good luck! My wife had one of those for a while after she delivered my son, and it was a relief (wokka wokka!) to get rid of it afterwards.
