It's the Mets and the Phillies for the next three days and a friend offered me tickets for tomorrow's night game 1st base side 15th row. I'm stoked!

GO PHILS!

Jealous. But I'm taking the wife to the Phillies game on June 9th while we'e in Baltimore for a wedding that weekend. Hopefully Doc is pitching.

I hope all those greedy F---s in the NFL don't ruin it for us fans.  Maybe we should form a fans' union and strke the NFL.

And please, lets not ruin this perfectly good thread about The Beautiful Game with NFL talk... ;)

If you live in Boston or NYC you might care about Red Sox vs Yankees, but the rest of us rate it right up there with watching paint dry.  Besides, they're American League (see my comment above).

That's a whole other thread. My ONLY two weeks in the US are planned around football season so I can take the little guy to a Bears game (oh, and so we can see family...) but if there's no Bears... Could you imagine? Fall would just be a period of everything dying or going to hibernate in preparation for winter. There would be nothing to do on Sundays except whatever the wife tells you to do. Surely this calls for an act of congress or something.

Real football takes place on Saturdays, anyways :)

Tried to chime in here and discovered I'd accidently locked the thread.  Weird...  sorry bout that chief!

Enjoying living in time zone UTC -10!

Working from my home office today - listening to the Giants at the Pads on the radio.  Giants are off to a good start.  Jumped out to a 3 run lead in the 1st.  Lincecum has some good stuff working today...  6 up 6 down with 5 Ks through the bottom of the second...

Thank god, now I have an excuse to sit around drinking Old Style all day, watching my team lose.

Yup, that team is the Cubs.

 Poor Cubs

The ancient curse of the goat...what was the goat's name? Bartman or something?

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zqadxOG-dI

Tubercle wants to apologize for poking fun at the Cubs. They were close; Oh!, so close. I watched the reply of that infamous inning on youtube and being the baseball fanatic I am, my heart went out to them. And I think Bartman is truly repentant and he only did what any fan would have done in that situation. I would hate to be living his life. Tubercle's not going to mention this incident again.

At least not until next years thread.....

It was a blast except for Blanton giving up 4 runs in the 4th but the relief really held up. Thank God!

How about Howard, he's on fire right now. It was a very exciting game to watch live. Non-stop action.

GO PHILS!

The key to the season, if you  ask me. And, yeah Howard is off to a great start.

Giants home opener today.  First game at home since becoming World Champions.

That ought to be a good place to be.

Carl Crawford was just waiting to get paid. He's lazy.

Pedroia's power numbers never came back after the MVP season...hmmmmmmm

Ellsbury will be injured in May

Ortiz's batspeed has slowed down so much he's behind on change-ups

Scutaro/Lowrie.....

Youk is a first baseman, not a 3B. No comment on his bat though, he's legit

Gonzalez is legit, but pressure of big market may affect him

Salty-HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Lester-Legit Ace

Bucholz-Too erratic

Beckett-Washed up

Lackey-Never was good

Dice-K-HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Bullpen-Meh. Nelson Cruz owns Wakefields soul now, Papeldouche sucks, Bard can't handle closer role or they would've done it already.
