Why am I still here?

I haven't brewed a batch in over a year. At least. My stockpile is all but gone.  :'(

Why ask why?
Dammit Jim (Nate) you're a brewer not a philosopher!  Get brewing!

There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way.

I've noticed that homebrewers tend to treat their status similar to the Marines.

There is no such thing as an ex-homebrewer. :)

I tend to go in waves.  One year I brewed 30 batches.  The next year, schedules changed and I only brewed 3.  Anymore I've leveled off at about 15/yr.

If you want to start up again, look at what is keeping you from brewing and find for a non-painful way to adjust that.  You'll be rolling again in no time.

That made me chuckle... Mostly it's the divorce and house sale sucking up all my time.

Nate, don't you a friend that brews?  Go to HIS house and you guys brew sumpin' (anything your ex hates).  Get AWAY from the house and the other things that are distracting you from brewing.  This $h!T has been going on for TOO LONG.  After all, you ARE a brewer!(dammit!)

you might want to put that in the beer quotes thread, i could see it on a t-shirt  :)

mrnate, when life gets in the way of brewing, I start thinking about future brews.  I write recipes; I get inspiration from things I read, movies, things people say, conversations with friends, food I make/eat, etc.  For example, this year I've only brewed five times, 1-Janurary, 2-March, 1-April, 1-June.  BUT, I do have 12 beer recipes in what I call "my current recipe list," 10 recipes in my mead and braggot list and 44 recipes in my "to brew later" list.  It helps keep the spirit alive.  cheers, j

+1 to that. I brew way more beer in my head than in reality. always have a ton of recipes that I want to do.

I've only brewed 2 batches since I've been in Idaho, almost a year and a half now. Since I don't have my basement brewery, I just can't get into it. Hopefully that changes once I get the brewery built onthe mancave.
