The following beer recipe is featured in the November/December 2019 issue of Zymurgy magazine. Access this issue along with the archives with Zymurgy Online!

This rye IPA recipe comes courtesy of renowned homebrewer and Experimental Brewing co-creator Denny Conn.

With Denny’s rye IPA, expect that earthy and spicy rye character, with the beautiful copper color to boot. The hop flavor is pronounced, with the bitterness elevating the earthy quality of the rye malt. Pro tip: brew twice as much as you think you need with this one.

Note: For Denny’s 24th anniversary brew day, he made a version of this recipe but decreased the Crystal 60 to 1 lb and increased the dry hop edition to 2 ounces and reduced the duration to 3 days. Learn more about Denny’s 24 years of homebrewing.
