Charlie Papazian is the founder of the American Homebrewers Association (1978) and past president of the Brewers Association (BA). He speaks and writes about the beer and brewing industry at many conferences, events, and in many publications throughout the world. Charlie has five bestselling books and his Complete Joy of Homebrewing has sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide. He is also known for founding the National Homebrewers Conference, World Beer Cup, Great American Beer Festival, Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America®, Brewers Publications, BA Beer Style Guidelines, CraftBeer.com, and the magazines Zymurgy and The New Brewer. His accomplishments and activities have been chronicled in National Geographic, Time-Life, the Smithsonian, and many other publications worldwide.

Chris "Crispy" Frey retired from Ford Motor Company to move to Hendersonville, North Carolina with his beautiful wife Kris. Crispy is an elected member of the American Homebrewers Association's (AHA) Governing Committee (GC), has served on the Brewers Association Board of Directors, co-chaired the 2014 national Homebrew Con volunteer efforts, and currently serves on the AHA GC Events & Education Subcommittee. He served as the Chief Anarchist and Benevolent overlord for the Ann Arbor Brewers Guild for many years, and currently serves as Treasurer and Secretary for the Mountain Ale & Lager Tasters (MALT) in Asheville, North Carolina. "I have been homebrewing for 29 years and have brewed 500 different batches of beers, meads, and ciders. The fact that my waistline is still 36" is a marvel of my metabolism." In 2019, he was awarded the AHA Recognition Award.
