Well guys, the waiting list route might be your best bet.  There is reason to hope.

I signed up on the waiting list and have been successful in registering for NHC '12.

Color me happy!  See you in Seattle (Belleview)!
Glad you got in Karl!

(I know, Carl, but it's Bellevue ;D )

If there is a forum meet up this year, I will try and not wander off right before hand.   :P

I was thinking about that....we should try it again.  Maybe set a time to all invade the hospitality suite?  Hmmm, perhaps we should start a new topic about this.

I'll 2nd that motion Denny.

No worries Thom!

Hey, as we say here about hula dancers' hands telling the story, "You watch (view) the parts you like, and I'll watch the parts I like."

Get it?  Belle view...   ;)

+1 on the forum gathering.  On my registration, for the Club/Company entry I put "Forum name Punatic."  Perhaps there may be some way of identifying forum participants on their conference ID badges?  If this is not possible via the NHC badge printer, maybe something we make up ourselves?  Hell, we could even have a secret handshake!

I had a dream about being at NHC... had a blast.  One of the best things about it was that when we checked in we received t-shirts with our forum avatars on them! It was so cool to be able to spot people that you "recognized" and introduce yourself.  OK, maybe I'm a little too excited for my first NHC and maybe the t-shirts are a bit much. But hey, what about ID's with our forum avatars on them?

I noticed that, great pic!
In the dream, I was cracking up because Tom was wearing a t-shirt with a big ol' picture of Tom on the front. ;D

Hey there, if one is on the waiting list how will they get notified if a spot opens?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Dang, how could I, of all folks, screw that up.  Of course the shirt is green and not blue.

Guess it's just your childish good looks that threw me :)

FWIW The Cub Scout rank WEBLOS II is allowed to wear the green uniform.  They are transitioning to Boy Scouts.

IIRC, I was about 12 when that picture was taken.  About a year before I discovered, girls, rock'n'roll, and everything that went with them....nudge, nudge, wink, wink...

I agree it would be great to have the option of having our forum name also listed on our ID's along with our real names (I am assuming we have to wear ID's since I have to at all other conferences I attend).  It is always noisy as hell at these conferences, and I don't want to waste time with intro's and ice breaking.

There is a rumor going around that we may get RFID chips implanted this year instead of wearing badges   :o
