Hey two teams that only see a sellout crowd on the road-good choice, how'd they fare in Tokyo??

I don't think it is accurate to call it America's Pastime anymore, since it is 3rd or 4th on the list of favorite sports. I stopped following it years ago. Might try to pick up on it some this year. But "yawn" .... I dunno.

I'm struggling to call a game in Japan the opening game of the 2012 MLB Season.  Didn't they used to call these kinds of thing exhibition games?

I guess I'm just getting old.

HEY! GET OFF MY LAWN!!

Slow - The Japanese LOVE baseball.  Ichiro Suzuki of the Mariners had a killer game in front of his countrymen.

Oh I know the Japanese love baseball.  I have a Hiroshima Carps cap hanging in my closet.  I don't have an issue with two US teams playing a Spring game over there either.  I think that's great!  I just have a difficult time seeing a game played in a foreign country, in front of a hometown, but not US, crowd being called the "American Season Opener" (at least in the press in my area).

If the pro teams from Japan played teams from the US during the regular season and could compete for the World Series Title, I wouldn't have a problem with it.  Instead it's a publicity stunt and seems like a MLB comment on US fans.

/stepping off high horse now/

I'm glad Ichiro had a good game!

I love baseball. It's now my favorite sport. Football is a close second. Baseball wins out because it's such a long season compared to football.

I'll be watching my Fightin' Phils try for another world series run. They need some hitters in a big way.

Go Cubs!  haha, yeah right.  Cubs' season opener is at home this year on April 5th.

no time clock.
only sport where defense has control of the ball.
90' is a perfect distance(89' more base runners, 91' more throw outs).

i love this sport. even more so since i got the MLB internet radio package a few years ago.  any game, any place with real baseball announcers, not dry tv guys like buck and mccarver.

and, it means spring and long days of sunlight!

"yawn" ....

+1 baseball is way to slow for me. I could chill my wort to acceptable pitching temps between plays. I can't take it.
