My package says HULL not HUELL....Bred at the Hop Research Institute in Hull. We are talking about the same thing right?

The accepted practice is to add an e to the vowel to replace the umlaut over the vowel.

I need to start practicing my German again.

Ok, makes sense. It's just being sold minus the umlaut sometimes.  Good info.

It is only authentic Bavarian if it has an umlaut    ;D

You have made me want some.

We have a "taster's club" at Yellowhammer on SUnday and the Mandarina hop IPA is one I am excited about getting people's impressions one.

was it all late hop and dry hop?

Yes. It was all Vienna to about 1.065 then bittering addition of magnum (I cheated) to about 50-60 BUs then 10 min addition an flame out addition and monster amount in dry hops.

Yeah, great hop. And Curtism1234, what did you not like about Mandarina in your IIPA ?  100 IBU is not unusual in IIPA.

EDIT -  I could see how Chinook could overpower it though.

Thank you all for the welcome! I'm a newbie (to making beer) and am about small 7-8 batches in.

Yeah, the chinook overpowered the mandarina (trying to remember...I think I used most of the chinook early, most of the mandarina late in the boil, and dry hopped with a little of both). I love hoppy 100ibu ipa's but I think too much chinook brings out an abbrasive quality in a nuetral at best to negative way compared to some other big ipas.

I've been eyeing the Hull hop for a saison. I think that would be good.

Yeah, already deciding which taps to hit first.  Gotta have a plan. I want to buy some more soon, too.

Actually, YVH is showing the 2014 in now.   If you order, let me know.  It looks like they have them now.
