Pics of recent brews?
« Reply #3750 on: August 10, 2020, 07:41:59 am »

Thank you.  I also use a gel solution and my results are good but not quite as good as that photo of yours and my guess is that the floating diptube is one of the big differences.  I do not use them and I would really prefer not to go there but if I keep seeing evidence that it works this well I might go down that path.  Thanks again... much appreciated.

There are other things I do:

Mash pH control
Brewtan B during mash
transferring crystal clear wort to the BK
skimming the scum at hot break
Brewtan B in the boil (I use a copper IM)
straining hop material during transfer to FV
Pitch Bry-97 w/Fermax
cold crashing
gelatin
floating dip tube.

I think they all add up.

My Imperial Red IPA.  It's called Red's For What Ales You.  Very happy with this one, 7.5%, 78 IBU's.

This is my SNPA clone. I used the exact recipe from their website with 2 minor exceptions. The last hop addition on the Sierra Nevada website is at 0 minutes remaining in the boil. That’s not an option with Picobrew. I converted that to keg hops. The other change is I used Root Shoots Genie Pale. It’s a bit darker than normal 2-row pale at 2.5L.

The beer turned out great. I think mine has a bit more hop flavor and aroma than SNPA probably because of the keg hops. I think it’s a bit darker also but not too much.

Looks fantastic.

Great minds think alike: I have my own slightly modified version of SNPA on deck for the next avail tap.

Really enjoying my version of Annie Johnson's "Mow the Damn Lawn," especially when the thermometer reads 105 degrees!
