Amen Brother! We've gotten 15+ inches of rain here since the eclipse.
Making up for lost time...it must be the rainy season there now.
Yep, this time of year is called Makahiki. We get 180" of rain a year here at my house on the windward side of the island. About 3/4 of that falls November through January. I live in a tropical rainforest (on the slopes of an erupting volcano).
Funny thing is, on the other side of the island, in an are called Puako (in the South Kohala District), they get less than 15" of rain a year. That part of the island is in the rain shadows of Mauna Loa, Hualalai, and Mauna Kea.
I bet you can guess where the high-end resorts are located...
