AHA Membership
« on: November 12, 2009, 09:19:33 am »
I'm just curious how many of you have an AHA membership. Do you use the benefits that come with the membership? I do not currently, but will most likely get one soon. Its good to support the AHA community and its efforts!

I was so close to choosing "no pants" but I wanted to give you the accurate count.

I use the discount when I can, although there is not much presence here in NH ( Portsmouth Brewery is the only one ).   It doesn't take long to make the money back.  Also, I love getting Zymurgy.

All this is great, but I like to think my support helps the AHA keep doing their work looking out for Homebrewers.

Getting Zymurgy alone is worth it, then I do use the pub discounts a lot, saving more than the price of the membership I'm sure.

Plus all the work the AHA does behind the scenes for homebrewers is very valuable.

Yep, probably 20 years now. My first batch was brewed on January 1, 1990. I need to plan my 20th Anniversary brew for this 1/1. Besides supporting the AHA and its deeds: supporting legalizing homebrewing in the states where it has not yet been legalized, supporting this forum, the AHA, the GABF, zymurgy, etc. I like being able to get in to the GABF during the Saturday afternoon brewers-only session.

Hell yes, I'm a member!  :)  It looks like we're on track to finally get homebrewing legalized in all 50 states this year, and although I can't go into details, we're closer to getting homebrew shipping legalized than we've ever been!  Also, we have special "Members Only" sections planned for the website and forum, so you'll get even more value with your AHA membership.

I am currently a member however I admit to going through spells where I forget to renew. I do the same thing with the local Public Radio station until I am shamed into renewing my membership.

Denny, the legalization thing in all 50 stats is great news - but I will only believe it when I see it.

My wife and I are both members.

Pub discounts and Zymurgy are good.  So are the AHA rally's if you can get to one.

As a member your entries to the Nationals are less, and you get reduced rates to the NHC.

There is also one of the limit sessions at GABF that you an buy tickets for, but I haven't been, yet.

This site is just the latest benefit.

I joined at the Surly rally last month -- what a cool event!  I wish more establishments in my area (Twin Cities, MN) offered the pub discount, but I'm going to start bugging the managers at those establishments to get on board.

If you need some material to show them, contact Kathryn Porter at the AHA.
