NoPants is a carryover from another board?  ???

I got in on the recipe book promotion, that's what pushed me over the edge.

Yes, carryover from NB. It was generally understood that each poll should include a "no pants" option. It all stemmed from Weazletoe....

<Bosley> Hi I'm Drew and not only am I on the Governing Committee, but I'm a member too! </Bosley>

Looking into the future, one of the things we'd love to know from the membership is what services does the AHA not provide that you wish they did? I know for some of you the Pub Discount program is less than useful due to location, so what could the org do for you?

We meet often to talk about these sorts of things and offer input into the efforts, so give us ideas. You've seen Denny and I, do we look like we have much in the way of brainpower left? :)

ETA: If you don't feel comfortable proffering suggestions on an open board: feel free to PM me or email me: drew@maltosefalcons.com

Okay . . since I've made a public declaration of my membership . . I can now offer a few ideas . .  :D

In lieu of the pub discounts, are there any online home brew shops willing to work with you for AHA member discounts . . if only 5%?    It's a natural fit.

I'd also like to see  a list of available brewing "Celebrities" who could be at home brew comps or festivals. Charlie, Jamil, Denny to name a few. If their expenses are paid, why can't they show up to spread the gospel? (schedule permitting)

If you pay my expenses, I'll be thrilled to show up.  The AHA doesn't do that, though.

I don't know of any shops that give discounts to members, but that doesn't mean there aren't.  If you find any that do, be sure to, let us know.  Kathryn might know if there are...you could try sending her a PM.

I like both of your suggestions....implementing them could be an issue, but we'll definitely keep them in mind!

Maybe we could ALL come to your place?

I just joined.  So where are the local participating brewpubs?  Does AHA membership get you discounts on homebrewing supplies?  If not, that would be a nice perk.

D&D . . glad to know you both are ready, willing and able!  :)

I still think a list is a good idea. find out from all your cohorts (published and unpublished) if they are as willing as the both of you and we could be onto a traveling medicine show!   :D

You can find participating pubs here...

I'll look into whether we've ever explored the possibility of discounts from suppliers.  Drew, do you know anything about that?

Here in MI some shops will give a discount for a Club Membership or an AHA membership card.

I think just about anyone on the GC or AHA staff would do it, if the schedule was right and expenses were covered.

So, I entered my AHA account number and linked my login to my account.  What does that get me?  At the very least, I was hoping for a cool icon next to my posts that advertised how awesome I was for being a member and/or shamed those who aren't.

Maybe a "Member Since" date.  That'd be cool for you oldtimers.
